Ford Cosworth Frank Williams Racing Team Piers Courage. With Engine Detail. After running his own Formula 2 team in 1968, Frank Williams bought a Brabham BT26A and privately entered it under the name of Frank Williams Racing Cars Limited and on a very small budget for the 1969 Formula One Championship. At the wheel, his close friend Piers Courage, a very talented young driver. That year, Courage had 2 second place finishes, at Monaco and at the U.S. GP. For the following season, Williams entered the factory built De Tomaso 505/38 - Ford under the Frank Williams Racing Team name. Unfortunately, the car suffered lots of teething problems and Piers Courage enjoyed little success with it before his tragic death at the Dutch GP 1970
